The Night Watch Man

I am the Night Watch Man

I call for you at eleven

You always make me wait.

The night has work to do

And I watch over you.

It's the time

For your liver wheels to grind.

Some nights I see

You wake at three

Made afraid

By mind chasing poison.

At four the poison

Takes the body of some

And they will not

See the day.

I drag out yesterday

And pull in tomorrow.

For night is too strong

Keep away, be quiet, don't fight

By morning I am gone.
